I just bought a JD 4210 w/430 loader and 72" belly mower. I chose JD partly because I like the easy mount FEL, but mostly because I looked closely at the Kubota's (I have a dealer right up the road I have bought from before) and they just do not seem to have the features, or be as well made as the JD.

Just wondering if anyone has used both, and has any insights to share. Just curious.

I think you didn't get much past sales claims of the industries merchandizer. It takes a lot to get past the salesmen and look at the units. I have found that a good demo is enough normally to separate the qualities that you might have missed. Then again maybe you might only need what you bought. ....

Actually, I did get a demo of the JD - the dealer let me drive it (around the parking lot) and he took off the FEL completely, and then put it back on, all in less than 5 minutes.

3 of my neighbors have Kubotas of different vintages, plus I looked at them at the dealer. Ive watched my neighbors remove their FEL's. I was most interested in opinions that go beyond just a demo - like actual FEL work, mowing, long term comfort, etc. ....
